FAQs
Jewellery and moisturiser must not be worn for any Pole classes.
What do I wear?
To start with, normal gym wear is fine for example 3/4 leggings and a t-shirt. Whatever you are comfortable in. As you progress up the levels you will need more skin contact with the pole so shorts are recommended. However if you are not comfortable with your pins out, you can also purchase special 'sticky' leggings, which will give you grip on the pole. As our fitness and flow classes involve some floor work some of our students have found knee pads helpful.
You may have bare feet in class, trainers, or 9"heels and anything in between. It is totally up to you. However all warms ups are done either in bare feet or trainers.
Why are pole classes more expensive then some other classes?
Pole classes are more expensive for several reasons. Firstly and most importantly, you are learning a skill that as an instructor we have spent many years learning. Effectively it's not just a fitness class. As pole instructors we have comprehensive insurances and expensive equipment that also need regular checks and maintenance to comply with our insurance. We also have regular ongoing training and courses to keep us up to date, and compliant with the PDC.
However at Vertical Addiction we appreciate that pole is a more expensive class. This is why we only have 6 in a class and maximum of 2 people to a pole. So you get more quality pole time and more instruction time.
As a PDC approved instructor, Vertical Addiction complies with the PDC fair pricing policy.

Am I the wrong body type or age to Pole?
The simple answer is no. Any Shape, any size, any age, any fitness level. The only thing to stop you is you.
Am I strong enough to Pole?
It doesn't matter what your fitness levels are...that's one of the reasons you are attending classes after all. We have regular gym goers and students who haven't exercised in 30yrs. We all start somewhere and it's all about progression.
How old do I need to be to pole?
There is no lower or upper age limit. Anyone of any age can try pole classes dependent on their health. Currently our youngest student is 12 and our oldest 68.
If you are under 16 you will need to be accompanied by a guardian who is over the age of 18 who will need to sign a consent form. We suggest the guardian/parent come and attend a class first to see what it's all about.
